OU College of Allied Health Launches New Online Interprofessional Graduate Certificate in Pediatric Applied Nutrition

 In a groundbreaking initiative, the University of Oklahoma College of Allied Health has announced a new interprofessional graduate certificate in applied nutrition, with enrollment opening for the spring 2024 semester.

Tailor-made for health care professionals, this 12-credit hour online program promises a transformative journey into the intricate world of nutrition, fostering a rich interprofessional learning environment.

“As we strive to advance health care education, these certificates will empower our participants to navigate the landscape of nutrition in patient care,” said Jane Wilson, Ph.D., RDH, dean of the OU College of Allied Health. “As evidenced by the work of our program director Dr. Meghan Tizzano in developing these programs, the College of Allied Health is dedicated to providing courses of study that address the needs of health care professionals and equip them with the knowledge and skills to make a positive impact on patient outcomes.”  

Diverse Learning for Diverse Professionals
Through the new program, physicians, nurses, speech-language pathologists, physical or occupational therapists, pharmacists, or any other health professional working with pediatric patients, will gain a deeper understanding of nutrition's profound impact on diverse patient populations. The courses in the certificate programs are designed to explore complex nutrition issues, providing evidence-based education that not only enhances students’ knowledge but also imparts practical and clinically applicable skills within one’s specific scope of practice.
