OU Appoints Executive Vice Chair of Radiation Oncology at OU College of Medicine and OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center

The University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center are pleased to announce the appointment of Christina E. Henson, M.D., as Executive Vice Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology.
A distinguished clinician, researcher, and educator, Henson has been a vital member of the department for more than a decade. She currently serves as assistant dean for Graduate Medical Education and has led the department’s residency program as its program director since 2019. Recently promoted to associate professor, Henson also leads several national clinical trials, underscoring her reputation as a high-impact clinician-scientist.
Henson specializes in the treatment of head and neck, breast, and gynecologic cancers. She serves as the principal investigator for numerous investigator-initiated and cooperative group studies. She plays a key leadership role in cancer research at Stephenson Cancer Center for which her current positions include co-director of the Breast Program, chair of the Head & Neck Clinical Research Disease Site Group, and she is an active contributor to the NRG Oncology Head and Neck Committee.
In addition to her clinical and research achievements, Henson is widely recognized for her commitment to education and mentorship. She serves on the Executive Committee of the Association of Directors of Radiation Oncology Programs (ADROP) and is a dedicated mentor to early-career faculty and trainees. Her contributions as a section editor for the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics and participation in international consensus initiatives reflect her scholarly excellence and collaborative leadership.
