Professional Practice Gap: Nonconvulsive status epilepticus is an undertreated cause of in-hospital morbidity and mortality. This activity will improve the learner’s ability to manage nonconvulsive status epilepticus.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this session, participants will improve their competence and performance by being able to:
1. Define status epilepticus and distinguish convulsive and nonconvulsive status epilepticus (NCSE).
2. Explain how initial treatment steps may aid in the diagnosis of NCSE.
3. Discuss treatment options of NCSE once diagnosed.
