Professional Practice Gap: Practitioners are frequently challenged between the available evidence against polypharmacy and its apparent proliferation in the medical community. This presentation will address that gap.


Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe polypharmacy and its implications in different patient populations, especially the geriatric.
  2. Recognize over-prescribing pitfalls, especially in patients with significant medical co-morbidities.
  3. Identify strategies for educating patients and offering polypharmacy corrections and solutions.
